Artist Statement
My work aims to explore the finite nature of human existence. It is my belief that all people are artists, creating and destroying, capturing and releasing. My process is comparable to the use of dowsing rods, each hand acting as a vector, or “finder” of a deeper subconscious. As well as being a visual artist, I try to unravel my understanding of the human experience through writings, songs, performance, sculpture and any other medium I can mold into a facet for my imagination.
I am deeply inspired by the writings of Karl Marx, Jacques Lacan and Friedrich Nietzsche.
I am also inspired by New York, Santa Fe and Denver, where I have called home to my studios.
I am currently studying in New York City at the School of Visual arts. Since childhood I have been fascinated with the grotesque beauty of New York City, and am proud to have found my studio and life here.
In my practice, I try to keep my heart and mind open; receiving and, in turn, creating in a way that honors my experience.
